Science and Technology (IPTEK) is one of the most rapid developments, where this era brings an increasingly open climate for mutual cooperation and complementarity. On the other hand, this era also brought very competitive competition. SMKN 1 Batipuh is one of the vocational schools located in Tanah Datar Regency. SMKN 1 Batipuh shows a very rapid development graph, this is because the location of SMKN 1 Batipuh is in a strategic position and is around a population that has a dense population. This condition makes SMKN 1 Batipuah one of the favorite vocational education destinations. SMKN 1 Batipuh as an educational institution for the vocational secondary level, which has the aim of preparing students to enter the karja field that has competence and can develop themselves professionally and continue their education to a higher level. In order to realize these goals, the school has built a vision, namely to become a center for education and vocational training services with national / international standards. The effort of SMKN 1 Batipuh to realize this vision is to prepare human resources who are skilled, creative and have broad insight in their fields of expertise and who are always quality oriented in every activity. In addition, a creative, sincere learning and working climate is also developed by empowering the potential of schools including teachers, students and students with a moral foundation of honesty and discipline.

Therefore, SMK graduates must be prepared to have the competencies needed by the business world / industrial world (DU / DI) so that they can reduce the unemployment rate of SMK graduates. One of the competencies that DU / DI needs in the field of automotive engineering is knowledge and skills in motorcycle technology. Based on these problems, through the Community Partnership Program (PKM), the UNP campus carried out a service to SMK with the title “Making Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) Simulator on Yamaha Mio J Motor at SMKN 1 Batipuh Kab. Tanah Datar “. With this activity, it is hoped that it can help the government in improving the competence of prospective graduates of SMKN 1 Batipuh by providing learning media in improving the competence of motorcycle technology. The SMK selected as partners in this activity is SMKN 1 Batipuh.

This PKM activity was chaired by Nuzul Hidayat, S.Pd., M.T. with members of Wagino, S.Pd., M.Pd.T. and M. Yasep Setiawan, S.Pd., M.T. which was held on 12 s.d. 15 October 2020 at SMKN 1 Batipuh. During the handover activities, the tools were divided into 2 sessions, namely social activities and briefing activities or theory and practice in operating the simulator. The hospitality and handover activities were carried out directly with the Principal of SMKN 1 Batipuh, namely Budi Dharmawan S.Pd., M.T. and teachers who teach in the motorbike engineering department. SMKN 1 Batipuh is now led by Budi Dharmawan S.Pd., M.T. Very happy with this activity because for the first time SMKN 1 Batipuh was given 1 unit of practicum learning simulator by the PKM Team from UNP. In addition, during the activity, vocational teachers in the automotive sector were also accompanied, including Drs. Burhaini, Rahmat Hidayat, S.Pd., Frengki, S.Pd., and several other teachers.

The basic objective of this PKM activity is to create SMK graduates who have competence in the field of fuel injection systems on motorbikes. The material provided includes basic knowledge of fuel injection systems on motorbikes, components and their functions as well as damage analysis based on computerized diagnostics. In addition, it is also followed by overcoming the damage after being diagnosed using the DLC (Data Link Connector) and with the Y-Diag (Yamaha electronic control diagnostic and analysis tool). As long as the activities were carried out everything went smoothly because this was inseparable from the support and cooperation of the SMKN 1 Batipuh and LP2M (Institute for Research and Community Service) UNP schools. The conditions for implementing PKM activities are still in the period of the Covid-19 pandemic, so the PKM Team and School Parties strictly carry out the Covid-19 protocol, including maintaining distance, wearing masks, washing hands and using a handsanitizer.

After the activity took place, it was hoped that the PKM simulator team that was given would make a positive contribution to the school and bring benefits in increasing the competence of students of SMKN 1 Batipuh. Hopefully this cooperation can be continued and improved in other activities.
