Abdimas is carried out while still complying with health protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic, namely always washing hands, maintaining distance and using masks.
This Abdimas activity is entitled “Designing a Programmed Fuel Injection Motorcycle Simulator as a Learning Media in an Effort to Improve Student Competence in the Motorcycle Engineering Study Program at SMK Negeri 1 Batipuh, Tanah Datar Regency”. The implementation of the Abdimas activity began with the design of a programmed fuel injection motorcycle simulator which was carried out at the Fuel Motor Workshop, FT UNP Automotive Engineering Department and took three (3) days, from 11 to 13 October 2021.

The opening ceremony of this activity was attended by the entire Abdimas Team, teachers, all participants and was opened directly by the Principal of SMK Negeri 1 Batipuh Budi Dharmawan, S.Pd., M.T. which was marked by the handover of one (1) unit of the programmed fuel injection motorcycle simulator and training kit symbolically from the Team Leader Abdimas Ahmad Arif, S.Pd., M.T. to the Principal of SMK Negeri 1 Batipuh Budi Dharmawan, S.Pd., M.T.

After the design process for the motorcycle programmed fuel injection simulator was completed, this activity was continued by carrying out training on motorcycle programmed fuel injection technology to 15 students of the Motorcycle Engineering Department. The training was held on October 14, 2021 and immediately used a programmed fuel injection motorcycle simulator that had been created as a learning medium. This activity is very beneficial for students because it aims to increase students’ knowledge and skills about programmed fuel injection technology for motorcycles. The methods used in this training are lectures, questions and answers, discussions, demonstrations and practicums. The training activities ran smoothly and all participants were able to take a series of training events seriously and with discipline.

With the end of this activity, it is hoped that it will be able to improve students’ knowledge and skills about programmed fuel injection motorcycle technology and become a provision for students to enter the world of work. The Principal of SMK Negeri 1 Batipuh expressed his gratitude to the Abdimas Team of the Department of Automotive Engineering FT UNP for the useful knowledge and experience that has been given to students of the Motorcycle Engineering Department. They hope that this activity can be continued every year so that it can improve students’ knowledge and skills in the field of motorcycle technology in accordance with technological developments.
