Padang – Every year Padang State University conducts a community partnership program. This activity is a Tri Dharma college program, which includes community service, Padang State University in this case represented by a community service research institution or abbreviated as LP2M. Outside the city of Padang or within the city of Padang. In 2021, Padang State University through LP2M has the opportunity to carry out community service activities in the city of Padang with a total budget of approximately 1.4 billion from more than 50 activity titles. In the midst of the Covid 19 pandemic, the implementation of the community partnership program will continue to be carried out with due observance of health protocols. for the implementation of Community Service in Padang City experienced several delays due to the status of Padang City being PPKM level 4 previously this activity was planned to be officially opened by the Mayor of Padang. Separate activities. For the opening of the PKM activity which was carried out on August 27, 2021 in the hall of the Padang City Social Service, it was attended and officially opened by assistants to two Padang cities, namely Endrizal, then he was also accompanied by the secretary of the Padang City Social Service, namely Yoserizal and was also represented from LP2M UNP, namely Krismadinata. ST MT, Ph.D.
There are 3 titles of graduated PKM, which is collaboration between LP2M and youth organizations, including motorcycle training for youth who drop out of school, then there is household electrical installation training and also journal training.
In particular, the motorcycle repair training was carried out by the automotive engineering department, Faculty of Engineering, Padang State University, which was chaired by Nuzul Hidayat S.Pd MT and then member Muhammad Yasep Setiawan S.Pd MT. for the instructors are Ahmad Arif S.Pd MT and also Ifarial Nanda S.Pd M.PdT in this activity the instructors taken are people who are really experts in the field of motorcycle engineering both from old technology and the latest technology to with computerized technology. The training activity was carried out on September 11 and 12, 2021, which took place at the motorcycle laboratory of the automotive engineering department, Faculty of Engineering, State University of Padang. The training activities are in the form of theoretical and practical material with a percentage of 70% practice and 30% theory, in this case the material presented is not fundamental or basic material but material with the latest and latest technology. The number of participants who took part in this activity was 15 people consisting of various layers of youth, both from youth dropouts, youth who had already worked in motorcycle repair shops and youths who had interests and talents in the field of motorcycles, they were very enthusiastic and very passionate about motorcycles.
At the end of this activity it was closed by the head of the youth organization who had the hope that in the future this collaboration would always be established and improved for more productive activities and provide a more important role in people’s lives, especially youth who dropped out of school in the city of Padang.
