Department of Automotive Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Padang was founded in 1983. Graduates generally work as Vocational High School teachers, instructors in education and training centers in industry, polytechnic lecturers, Work Training Centers and some work in industry and automotive repair shop, or self-employed.
Department of Automotive Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Padang, currently has two study programs, namely
- Automotive Engineering Education (Undergraduate Degree)
- Automotive Engineering (Diploma Degree)
The Automotive Engineering Education study program (Undergraduate Degree) focuses on preparing educational personnel (teachers) for Vocational High Schools . Meanwhile, the Automotive Engineering study program (Diploma Degree) focuses on preparing a skilled and professional workforce in the field of Automotive Engineering. Both study programs have been accredited by BAN PT (National Accreditation Board for Higher Education)
Lecturers as teaching staff in the Automotive Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Padang, have a minimum qualification of S2 (Master Degree) from the field of education and the field of pure engineering
