This activity was carried out while adhering to health protocols during the Covid-19 pandemic, namely always washing hands, keeping your distance and wearing a mask.
This service activity is entitled “Design of Engine Cutting Simulator and Programmed Fuel Injection Motorcycle Technology Training in an Effort to Increase the Competence of Motorcycle Business Engineering (TBSM) Students in SMK Negeri 1 Sungai Aur, West Pasaman Regency”. The implementation of the activity began with the design and construction of a programmed fuel injection motorcycle cutting engine simulator which was carried out at the Motor Fuel Workshop, Department of Automotive Engineering, FT UNP and spent three (3) days, from 29 to 31 July 2022.
The opening ceremony for this activity was attended by the service team, teachers, all participants (students) and was opened directly by the Head of SMK Negeri 1 Sungai Aur Hardimentis Marwan, S.Pd., M.Pd.T. which was marked by the symbolic handover of one (1) motorcycle cutting engine simulator unit programmed fuel injection motorcycle and training kit from the head of the service team Ahmad Arif, S.Pd., M.T. to one of the participants (students) of the TBSM Department, SMK Negeri 1 Sungai Aur, West Pasaman Regency.
After the programmed fuel injection motorcycle engine cutting simulator design and construction process was completed, this activity was continued by carrying out training on motorcycle programmed fuel injection technology for 15 TBSM students. The training was held on 1 – 2 August 2022 and directly used the programmed fuel injection motorcycle cutting engine simulator which had been created as a learning medium. This activity is very beneficial for students because it aims to increase students’ knowledge and skills about motorcycle programmed fuel injection technology. The methods used in this training are lectures, questions and answers, discussions, demonstrations, exercises/practices and guidance. The training activities ran smoothly and all participants were able to take part in the series of training events seriously and with discipline.
With the end of this activity, it is expected to be able to increase students’ knowledge and skills about motorcycle programmed fuel injection technology and become a provision for students to enter the world of work. The Principal of SMK Negeri 1 Sungai Aur expressed his gratitude to the community service team from the Department of Automotive Engineering FT UNP for the knowledge and skills as well as useful experience that had been given to students of the TBSM Department. They hope that this activity can be resumed every year so as to increase students’ knowledge and skills in the field of motorcycle technology in accordance with technological developments.
