Department of Automotive Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, State University of Padang, through the management team of the AEEJ (Automotive Engineering Education Journals) journal successfully carried out training activities for students majoring in automotive engineering in the form of article writing training on Thursday (5/09/2019) in the EA 5 lecture room Automotive majors. The theme for this activity was “AEEJ Journal / Article Writing Workshop for Students of the Automotive Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Padang State University”
This activity is one of the programs carried out by the AEEJ journal management team through the electronic journal grant program of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LP2M), Padang State University. Where the AEEJ journal managed to get a grant for managing electronic journals on the beginner journal scheme in 2019 as stated in the Padang State University Chancellor’s decree number: 418 / UN35 / LT / 2019 which was set on July 26, 2019.

This activity consists of 2 training sessions. The first session began with a workshop on optimizing the preparation of references or bibliography using Zotero software to make it easier for students to compile bibliography. Dr. Ing. Remon Lapisa, S.T., M.T., M.Sc.Tech acted as the instructor in this first session. In the second session, the workshop materials were given by Dwi Sudarno Putra, S.T., M.T. where in this session it focuses on writing workshops or journals using the AEEJ journal template.

This activity gets tremendous enthusiasm from Automotive Engineering students, especially final year students who are taking a thesis or final project. Publication of articles or journals is one of the requirements for graduation for Padang State University students. This is in line with the regulations of the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education which require bachelor’s degree (S1) tertiary graduates to have publications in ISSN journals.
In addition, this activity was also carried out with the assistance of the Chairperson of the Automotive Engineering Department Student Association, Andriansyah Prasetio, who played an active role in disseminating all students of the Automotive Engineering Department to be able to succeed in the activities of this workshop.
